Base Salary
$257k - $333k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and deliver foundational AI services and APIs for enterprise-scale customer experience platforms.
- Lead model selection, fine-tuning, inference optimization, evaluation, agentic infrastructure, and multi-tenant API design.
- Take machine learning systems from research or prototype through reliable production deployment.
- Build regression gates, judge calibration, drift detection, and statistical evaluation processes for shipped AI behavior.
- Package and deliver AI services across cloud, on-premises, air-gapped, CPU, NPU, and small-GPU environments.
- Own full-lifecycle technical projects and concurrent workstreams while driving supported enterprise-grade delivery.
- Mentor senior engineers and applied researchers through technical depth and influence rather than positional authority.
- Collaborate with product, security, and executive leadership on architecture, responsible AI governance, and engineering standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 11+ years of related experience, or a master's degree with 7+ years of related experience.
- Machine learning experience covering model development, training, adaptation, and evaluation.
- Experience with Python and modern machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or JAX.
- Experience taking machine learning work from research or prototype through production.
- Production experience in model serving and inference, generative AI evaluation systems, agentic/orchestration infrastructure, or AI platform services and APIs.
- Experience leading full-lifecycle projects.
- Preferred experience architecting shared AI/ML inference platforms and APIs, including API contracts, versioning, and backward compatibility.
- Preferred hands-on experience with LLM/SLM serving optimization, fine-tuning, distillation, transfer learning, PEFT/LoRA, generative evaluation, agentic workflows, RAG architectures, hybrid and air-gapped deployments, MLOps, model registries, experiment tracking, telemetry, observability, enterprise security, and responsible AI compliance.
- Preferred external technical contributions through patents, peer-reviewed publications, open-source AI projects, or conference presentations.
