Responsibilities
- Design, code, enhance, and maintain custom software components across systems and applications.
- Develop and integrate COBOL applications within mainframe environments and modern systems.
- Debug and optimize legacy code to improve software performance and maintainability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate project requirements into software solutions.
- Document software designs, development processes, and troubleshooting activities.
- Work independently, contribute to team discussions, and provide solutions to work-related problems.
- Share knowledge and guide junior team members.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in COBOL.
- Proficiency in COBOL and experience with mainframe environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills focused on debugging and optimizing legacy code.
- Experience with the software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
- Ability to integrate COBOL applications with modern systems.
- Familiarity with version control systems and collaborative development tools.
- Strong communication skills for working with team members and stakeholders.
- 15 years of full-time education.
