Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, and support scalable Go backend services and microservices.
- Build and consume RESTful and gRPC APIs for catalog, metadata, entitlement, playback authorization, and device registration capabilities.
- Create and configure production and non-production AWS cloud environments using automation pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Integrate applications with AWS compute, storage, database, messaging, streaming, monitoring, and identity services.
- Define API contracts, data models, concurrency models, caching strategies, and resiliency patterns.
- Lead feature delivery from design through deployment and production stabilization.
- Develop and maintain unit, integration, regression, benchmarking, profiling, and race-detection test suites.
- Participate in code reviews, CI/CD processes, release activities, deployment validation, rollback procedures, and operational readiness.
- Analyze production incidents, perform root cause analysis, troubleshoot performance issues, and participate in on-call support.
- Provide estimates, technical guidance, risk assessments, mentoring, and stakeholder collaboration.
Requirements
- At least 9 years of relevant experience in Go and AWS cloud development, with a stated total experience requirement of 18 years.
- Strong Go programming experience, including interfaces, structures, slices, maps, goroutines, channels, context propagation, error handling, and Go modules.
- Experience building RESTful and gRPC APIs and designing microservices architectures.
- Hands-on experience with AWS Lambda, Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS, AWS Fargate, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon RDS, Amazon Aurora, Amazon S3, Amazon SQS, Amazon SNS, Amazon EventBridge, Amazon Kinesis, Amazon API Gateway, Amazon CloudWatch, and AWS IAM.
- Experience with Go frameworks or routers such as Gin, Echo, Chi, or net/http.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and infrastructure as code.
- Experience implementing blue-green and canary deployment strategies and troubleshooting distributed applications with logs, metrics, and monitoring tools.
- Experience leading production incident management and technical reviews, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Preferred experience includes OTT, streaming, broadcast, or digital media platforms; HLS, DASH, DRM, Widevine, PlayReady, FairPlay, CDN, SSAI, VOD, and AWS Elemental services.
- Preferred experience includes Kafka, AWS Step Functions, Terraform, AWS CDK, AWS CloudFormation, Kubernetes, Redis, Amazon ElastiCache, Grafana, Datadog, Elastic Stack, Splunk, OpenTelemetry, ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, and IT service management processes.
- AWS Developer Associate or AWS Solutions Architect certification and experience in managed services or SLA-driven environments are preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of full-time education is required.
