Responsibilities
- Define enterprise Platform Engineering and cloud architecture across AWS and Azure.
- Establish reusable Infrastructure as Code standards and automation patterns using Terraform/OpenTofu.
- Design GitOps operating models, deployment patterns, and integrations with Kubernetes and delivery workflows.
- Define enterprise Kubernetes and container-platform architecture for EKS and AKS.
- Architect internal developer platforms, paved roads, golden paths, templates, APIs, and self-service capabilities.
- Establish cloud governance, security, IAM, RBAC, observability, reliability, disaster recovery, and FinOps architecture patterns.
- Evaluate and guide secure AI-assisted and agentic capabilities for DevOps and platform workflows.
- Lead architecture reviews and complex cross-team initiatives from design through operational readiness.
- Mentor engineers and influence technical standards while operating as a senior individual contributor.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related role.
- Extensive enterprise-scale cloud and platform architecture experience, especially with AWS.
- Expert-level Terraform/OpenTofu experience, including modular design, governance, testing, and enterprise implementations.
- Strong Kubernetes experience, particularly with Amazon EKS and/or Azure AKS, including networking, security, identity, scaling, observability, storage, and lifecycle management.
- Strong GitOps architecture experience with Argo CD, Flux, or equivalent technologies.
- Strong understanding of enterprise software delivery, cloud security, IAM, RBAC, policy as code, compliance, and audit controls.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, scalability, high availability, disaster recovery, resiliency, and performance architecture.
- Strong automation and scripting/programming skills using Python, Go, PowerShell, Bash, TypeScript, or equivalent technologies.
- Experience with observability, SRE, reliability, operational excellence, cloud cost optimization, and FinOps.
- Demonstrated technical and architectural leadership across multiple engineering teams and complex initiatives.
- Preferred experience includes internal developer platforms, enterprise paved roads, large-scale cloud migration, multi-account AWS governance, Azure/AKS or other multi-cloud environments, platform metrics, and AI-assisted or agentic DevOps workflows.
- AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, architecture, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
