Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance scalable backend applications, RESTful APIs, microservices, data pipelines, and asynchronous event-driven integrations using Java and Python.
- Optimize application performance, throughput, memory management, and database query execution.
- Create automated unit, integration, and component tests; maintain code coverage and remediate static analysis findings and vulnerabilities.
- Integrate applications with CI/CD pipelines, containerize services, support Kubernetes or OpenShift deployments, and assist with release validation and management.
- Participate in requirements analysis, architecture discussions, Agile delivery activities, code reviews, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with business analysts, technical leads, frontend engineers, database administrators, and QA teams.
- Provide Level 3 production support, including monitoring, triage, root cause analysis, and remediation of application issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Approximately 2–4 years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrable proficiency in both Python and Java.
- Experience with Python programming, asynchronous programming, scripting, data processing, and frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
- Experience with Java, object-oriented design, multithreading, concurrency, collections, and the Spring or Spring Boot ecosystem.
- Practical experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs with OpenAPI or Swagger specifications.
- Familiarity with message brokers or streaming platforms such as Kafka, ActiveMQ, or IBM MQ.
- Experience with relational databases, schema design, indexing, complex SQL queries, ORM frameworks, and/or NoSQL datastores.
- Familiarity with Git-based version control, Java and Python build tools, Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift, cloud fundamentals, automated testing, and CI/CD tools.
- Strong analytical problem-solving, technical communication, collaboration, ownership, and adaptability skills.
- Preferred qualifications include Oracle Certified Professional: Java Programmer, AWS or Google Cloud certifications, and CKAD certification.
