Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, test, and deploy scalable distributed systems and Splunk Platform components across AWS, GCP, Azure, and on-premises environments.
- Build and operate Kubernetes-native software, including custom controllers and operators, and support stateful workloads such as databases, caching layers, and object storage.
- Define service health indicators, observability, SLOs, RPO/RTO targets, alerting, runbooks, and end-to-end recovery testing.
- Lead incident diagnosis and learning while reducing operational risk through resilient design, automation, and recovery practices.
- Translate roadmap items into architectures, system boundaries, APIs, milestones, RFCs, and engineering decisions.
- Lead technical design reviews, influence roadmap direction, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of professional experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems or SaaS platform infrastructure.
- Strong proficiency in Go and/or C++ for production systems development, plus scripting experience with Python or Bash.
- Proven experience building Kubernetes-native software and deploying resilient applications across AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Deep understanding of concurrency, data replication, idempotency, partial failure modes, and eventual consistency.
- Experience leading technical design reviews, writing clear RFCs or design documents, and mentoring engineering teams.
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills and experience collaborating across cross-functional engineering teams.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with stateful Kubernetes workloads, PostgreSQL or distributed NoSQL databases, Terraform, GitLab or Jenkins, service mesh and networking infrastructure, distributed tracing, alerting frameworks, and chaos or recovery testing.
