
Software Engineering - Signal Processing
HARMAN InternationalResponsibilities
- Design reference audio platforms and port HARMAN audio solutions to DSP and multi-core SoC platforms.
- Develop audio processing and routing frameworks in standalone DSP and multi-core SoC environments.
- Develop and integrate audio processing algorithms, including HARMAN algorithms, ICC, ECNR, KTV, and third-party algorithms.
- Deploy and optimize AI algorithms across different SoC platforms.
- Develop automated unit-test and integration-test environments for audio algorithms and frameworks.
- Support customers integrating HARMAN audio solutions into automotive audio systems.
- Conduct feasibility studies and proof-of-concept work for new technologies and customer projects.
- Optimize audio algorithms for MIPS, MCPS, memory, latency, THD, and frequency performance.
- Configure and debug audio interfaces and develop DSP signal flows.
- Lead technical discussions, coordinate with global and local teams, and serve as a technical interface for customers and stakeholders.
- Lead software projects from concept to production, including scope definition, estimation, technical planning, risk management, and delivery tracking.
- Drive technical decisions, mentor team members, and review architectures and designs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in software, electronics, physics, mathematics, or a related field, such as BSEE, BSCE, MSEE, or MSCE.
- At least 8 years of software development experience.
- Proficiency in C++.
- Experience with at least one DSP processor, such as Qualcomm Hexagon, Tensilica HiFi 5/4, ADI Sigma/Sharc/Griffin, TI C66, or Intel Apollo Lake.
- Experience with at least one audio/DSP framework, such as AudioHAL, ALSA, Elite/AudioReach, or AudioWeaver.
- Experience developing audio software involving audio routing and processing, audio drivers, floating-point and fixed-point processing, audio frameworks, and MIPS/MCPS optimization.
- Solid embedded-system development and debugging experience.
- Familiarity with oscilloscopes, audio precision analyzers, signal generators, emulators, debuggers, and other embedded-debug tools.
- Strong communication and English-language skills.
- Preferred experience includes 10 or more years in embedded software development, audio signal processing, FFT, filter design, ASRC, audio algorithm development and integration, and audio interfaces.
- Automotive development experience with CAN, UDS, or AUTOSAR and familiarity with Automotive-SPICE are preferred.
