Responsibilities

  • Design and build performant front-end features using React and Next.js.
  • Build and maintain RESTful and GraphQL backend API services supporting front-end products.
  • Own features from design through deployment, testing, observability, and post-launch monitoring.
  • Participate in technical design discussions and provide tradeoff analysis.
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues across UI and API layers.
  • Write maintainable, well-tested code and participate in code reviews.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through pairing, reviews, and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, and engineering teams.
  • Identify and address technical debt, performance issues, and reliability gaps.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 5 years of software engineering experience with a strong front-end focus.
  • Strong expertise in React and Next.js, including SSR, SSG, App Router, and client/server component patterns.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and component libraries such as shadcn/ui.
  • Experience with Zustand, Redux Toolkit, or equivalent state-management tools.
  • Experience with Zod or similar schema-validation libraries.
  • Ability to design and build RESTful and GraphQL APIs with sound API contracts, error handling, and type safety.
  • Experience deploying front-end applications on AWS, including CloudFront, Lambda@Edge or CloudFront Functions, S3, API Gateway, and Lambda.
  • Understanding of code splitting, lazy loading, caching strategies, SWR, React Query, and Core Web Vitals.
  • Experience with browser devtools, network inspection, log analysis, and unit, component, and end-to-end testing.
  • Preferred qualifications include financial-services experience, Turborepo or Nx, Vite, esbuild, AWS EventBridge, SQS, SNS, React Native, cross-platform mobile development, GenAI tooling integration, design systems, and AWS certifications.
  • Clear communication skills and comfort discussing technical decisions with teammates and stakeholders.
