Responsibilities
- Partner with PM/Design/Data Science to clarify goals and translate them into a technical plan.
- Write or review technical designs and coordinate dependencies with partner teams.
- Build production code and services with a focus on quality, testing, and performance.
- Run design and code reviews, advising engineers and driving consistent engineering standards.
- Own delivery by tracking execution risks and monitoring post-launch results.
Requirements
- Fluency in English is required; Japanese or Korean proficiency is a plus.
- 6+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with a strong track record.
- Solid understanding of large-scale backend architecture and distributed systems.
- Proven ability to resolve ambiguous problems and execute independently.
- Strong programming skills in Java, Kotlin, Python, Ruby, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- High engineering quality bar with a focus on clean, maintainable code.
- Ability to raise the team’s technical standards through code reviews and best practices.
- Data-informed decision-making skills using metrics and experimentation.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills in a global environment.
