Responsibilities
- Support the design, development, and testing of software for an assigned project under the mentorship of experienced software engineers.
- Write and unit-test code for small, well-defined tasks and debug issues under guidance.
- Participate in code reviews and support test automation and CI/CD pipeline activities.
- Document code and contribute to technical documentation.
- Support embedded or flight software, ground software tools, or simulation and modeling software depending on assignment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and communicate project progress, status, and potential issues.
- Implement and maintain agile project management methodologies throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Be a rising junior, senior, or graduate student pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Have coursework or project experience in one or more programming languages such as C, C++, Python, or Java.
- Have exposure to version control systems such as Git through coursework or personal projects.
- Familiarity with basic software testing and debugging practices is preferred.
- Prior internship, co-op, or hands-on project experience such as coding clubs, hackathons, or personal software projects is a plus.
- Demonstrate strong organization, time management, communication, collaboration, initiative, problem-solving, and execution skills.
- Be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet critical project milestones.
- Meet applicable export-control screening requirements for access to regulated technical data or technology.
