Responsibilities
- Participate in the architecture and software design of bioinformatics solutions.
- Implement bioinformatic algorithms in efficient, reusable C/C++ code.
- Analyze algorithm complexity and find efficient implementation methods.
- Work on existing and new pipeline infrastructures in on-prem and cloud environments.
- Manage performance tuning, integrations, testing, and bug fixing.
Requirements
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- MS degree or other advanced studies in relevant fields is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience as a senior software engineer.
- 5+ years of experience working with C/C++.
- Experience in implementing analytical algorithms in C/C++ or similar languages.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, R, or Rust.
- Familiarity with public cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containers (Docker).
- Knowledge of workflow management systems like Prefect, Airflow, or Luigi.
- Familiarity with pipeline languages such as WDL, Nextflow, or Snakemake is a plus.
