Responsibilities
- Build high-throughput services that inspect live traffic and terminate and analyze TLS in the data path.
- Own capabilities from initial concept through design, implementation, production deployment, operation, and maintenance.
- Set technical direction for a functional area and make consequential technical decisions.
- Meet latency and reliability targets, instrument systems for verification, and harden them against real load and failure.
- Lead through hands-on ownership of difficult and ambiguous engineering problems.
- Ensure production systems behave within their required parameters, not merely that they pass staging tests.
Requirements
- 5–7+ years building and operating production services and front ends.
- Hands-on experience with TLS/MITM inspection and security-sensitive live-traffic edge cases.
- Experience optimizing latency in streaming and distributed systems, including p99 tail latency, production load, and observability.
- Strong command of a modern backend language: Go, Rust, or TypeScript/Node.
- React/TypeScript front-end experience.
- Deep working knowledge of HTTP, TLS, gRPC, REST, and asynchronous or streaming I/O.
- Proven, demonstrable proficiency using AI tools and agents to design, build, and ship software while maintaining sound engineering judgment.
