Base Salary
$184k - $314k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and build large-scale real-time systems and services handling massive data volumes and complex workloads.
- Extend the ClickHouse pipeline to support new filters and attributes.
- Partner with product teams to define, launch, and improve customer-facing segmentation capabilities.
- Own and optimize the performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of core backend systems.
- Drive architectural direction, scope major technical efforts, and manage technical debt.
- Mentor engineers on software design, coding, and operations best practices.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, product managers, and stakeholders to integrate segmentation systems.
- Research and advocate for appropriate new technologies.
- Maintain alerts, on-call procedures, troubleshooting playbooks, and other operational practices.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including hands-on full-stack development or backend services for high-scale, high-throughput systems.
- Demonstrated experience delivering customer-facing products on high-scale data systems from problem definition through launch and adoption.
- Experience building foundational data-driven systems, including streaming, real-time pipelines, or large-scale data platforms.
- Ability to drive architectural direction, scope large efforts, manage technical debt, and lead major technical initiatives.
- Deep understanding of software design, data structures, and algorithms.
- Strong communication and organizational skills and the ability to thrive in collaborative teams.
- Preferred familiarity with Ruby, Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, React, Sidekiq, and SQL or NoSQL databases.
- Preferred experience with MongoDB, ClickHouse, Snowflake, or other data lake solutions.
- Preferred experience with Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Preferred experience with distributed systems, API design, monitoring, and related architecture practices.
