Responsibilities
- Compile and optimize neural networks for execution on Qualcomm AI accelerators.
- Analyze model performance, compiler algorithms, runtime efficiency, hardware utilization, compute bottlenecks, and memory hierarchy behavior.
- Prototype optimization algorithms for high-performance, low-power AI workloads on Qualcomm hardware.
- Contribute to the Qualcomm ML compiler stack and improve its performance, efficiency, scalability, and developer productivity.
- Explore optimization techniques for emerging AI workloads and neural network architectures.
- Analyze ML workloads to guide future hardware and software feature development.
- Develop performance models and simulation infrastructure using Python, C, and C++.
- Evaluate current and future Qualcomm AI accelerators and predict workload performance before silicon is available.
Requirements
- Be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Be proficient in Python or C++.
- Have strong analytical, problem-solving, debugging, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- Be detail-oriented and interested in solving complex technical problems.
- Preferred qualifications include strong Python and/or C/C++ knowledge and familiarity with object-oriented design principles.
- Preferred experience includes Git, CI/CD systems, Linux, SSH, algorithms and data structures, machine learning frameworks, model optimization and deployment, LLMs, generative AI, multimodal AI, AI accelerator architecture, computer architecture, memory systems, performance modeling, simulation, profiling, operating systems, systems software, and high-performance computing.
- For the 16-month internship, be available from May/June 2027 through August/September 2028 and have an expected graduation date of November 2028 or later.
