Responsibilities
- Design, architect, develop, integrate, administer, and test embedded and real-time software systems.
- Develop and debug low-level firmware and software in complex real-time multithreaded embedded applications.
- Work primarily on Link-16 and tactical data link software codebases.
- Analyze system capabilities and resolve issues involving program intent, requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
- Collaborate with Systems Engineering, Digital Engineering, Hardware, and Integration & Test teams.
- Use formal software lifecycle processes from requirements through testing and perform static analysis and unit testing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or another STEM discipline with 5 years of related experience, a master's degree with 3 years, or a PhD with 1 year for the Principal level; Senior Principal requires 8, 6, or 4 years respectively.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and object-oriented programming.
- Experience developing and debugging embedded real-time systems and integrating low-level firmware and software.
- Experience with tactical data link development, Link-16 or TACAN waveform standards, software-defined radios, and tactical data link radio or terminal lab equipment.
- Experience using Jira, Bitbucket, and Git.
- Familiarity with CORBA, SCA, static analysis, and unit testing.
- Preferred experience includes Avionics Operating System, Xilinx platforms and tools, Yocto/PetaLinux, I2C, SPI, UART, PCIe, Ethernet, TCP/IP, Rust, Linux kernel drivers, assembly, bare-metal device drivers, PowerPC, IBM engineering tools, Green Hills AdaMulti, and MIL-STD-6016.
- Must be able to obtain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance and work full-time onsite at the Rancho Carmel location.
