Base Salary
$180k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and write well-tested, resilient, extensible, and scalable software while setting the team’s technical quality standard.
- Break complex features into parallel workstreams, estimate delivery timelines, and drive execution from design through launch.
- Uphold security, reliability, observability, quality, and operational excellence standards while proactively resolving risks.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, design reviews, and retrospectives, and participate in technical interviews.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, Analytics, and engineering teams to translate customer needs into scalable solutions.
- Communicate technical problems, trade-offs, and proposals clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Expertise in one or more backend or full-stack languages such as Go, Kotlin, Java, or TypeScript, with the ability to learn new languages and frameworks.
- Experience designing secure, scalable, and performant software using cloud infrastructure such as AWS.
- Experience leading team-level projects, including workstream planning, timeline estimation, mentoring, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Ability to resolve ambiguity across product requirements, technical design, and cross-team dependencies.
- Ability to articulate best practices for error handling, observability, and operational excellence.
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
