Senior Site Reliability Engineer
Anduril IndustriesResponsibilities
- Lead the design, development, implementation, and support of next-generation software delivery toolchains.
- Manage infrastructure-layer systems and providers, including AWS, Azure, and VMware ESXi.
- Manage operating-system-layer systems including NixOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat, and Microsoft Windows.
- Manage orchestration-layer technologies including OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform.
- Manage application-layer tooling including GitHub Enterprise and CircleCI.
- Contribute to Nix-managed build and deployment systems.
- Contribute to ICT hardware systems management in a limited capacity.
- Implement best-practice security measures across the software toolchain.
- Serve as a technical owner for software services and mentor software engineers on a multidisciplinary team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in a senior role delivering a software or hardware system with mature software delivery, security, and operations capabilities.
- Experience designing, implementing, and operating horizontally scaled cloud technologies.
- Experience troubleshooting and analyzing remotely deployed software systems.
- Ability to work across the software stack and lifecycle, from design and implementation through operation and sustainment.
- Ability to act as technical owner for a software service, including stakeholder engagement, requirements definition, roadmap management, coordination, design, implementation, sustainment, and evolution.
- Ability to learn and grow while mentoring junior team members and building team cohesion.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance.
- Preferred experience writing cloud-native services using C++, Rust, Python, and/or Go.
- Preferred experience with NixOS, the Nix programming language, Terraform, Kubernetes, cloud and hybrid networking, systems programming, algorithms, data structures, concurrency, and optimization.
- Interest in progressing toward Principal Software Engineer, Engineering Manager, or Tech-Lead-Manager responsibilities.
