Responsibilities
- Design, develop, architect, program, implement, and test embedded software, firmware, platforms, modules, components, features, and embedded software products.
- Develop real-time logic and software for systems that control power-generation-related physical devices.
- Resolve technical issues within established procedures and collaborate with more senior team members when issues exceed defined parameters.
- Document, plan, and execute technical programs while explaining technical information to others.
- Build knowledge of the technical discipline and understand how the team's work integrates with other teams and business areas.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics major.
- Two years of C++ or object-oriented programming experience through school or work.
- Ability to work onsite in Roanoke, Virginia.
- Familiarity with real-time operating systems, preferably QNX, automated test methodologies, configuration management tools, and software build and installation methodologies is preferred.
- Familiarity with device-driver-level code, C#, .NET Framework, network protocols, and industrial fieldbus communication protocols is preferred.
- A master's degree in electrical or computer engineering and knowledge of TCP/IP, sockets, Ethernet, FOUNDATION Fieldbus, PROFINET, or CANopen are desired.
