Responsibilities
- Design, develop, program, and test embedded software and firmware for power-generation-related systems.
- Architect and implement embedded software modules, components, features, feature areas, or complete products.
- Develop real-time functionality based on the characteristics and requirements of controlled physical devices.
- Write and support device-driver-level code, networking functionality, and industrial communication interfaces.
- Resolve technical issues within established procedures and communicate technical information to team members and customers when applicable.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a STEM major.
- Two years of C++ or object-oriented programming experience through school or work.
- Familiarity with real-time operating systems, preferably QNX, automated test methodologies, configuration management tools, and software build and installation methodologies.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to document, plan, and execute programs.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, device-driver experience, C# and .NET Framework knowledge, network programming knowledge, and familiarity with industrial fieldbus protocols.
