$292k - $375k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the multi-year security architecture and roadmap for Zoox’s robots and fleet across embedded/firmware, in-vehicle networks, cloud, and supporting infrastructure.
- Partner with hardware, firmware, autonomy, and infrastructure teams to embed security requirements into system design.
- Lead threat modeling and architecture reviews for vehicle platforms and major feature launches.
- Define technical standards and guardrails for secure boot, key management, network segmentation, and OTA security, and drive adoption.
- Represent Product Security in cross-functional and leadership discussions and translate technical risk into business and safety impact.
Requirements
- Require 10+ years of security engineering experience, including significant experience as an architect, staff engineer, or technical lead.
- Require deep embedded/IoT security expertise, including secure boot, TPM/TEE, cryptographic key management, and hardened firmware/OS design.
- Require experience architecting security for complex physical or cyber-physical systems such as automotive, robotics, aerospace, or industrial control systems.
- Require a track record of driving cross-functional technical strategy and influencing engineering leadership without direct authority.
- Require understanding of network security, cloud security, and secure software development lifecycle practices.
- Preferred experience includes securing autonomous vehicles, robotics platforms, or safety-critical connected systems at scale.
- Preferred background includes offensive security such as red teaming or penetration testing.
- Industry standards contributions, published research, or conference talks in embedded, IoT, or automotive security are additional preferred qualifications.
