Base Salary
$170k - $230k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build Python backend services for real-time voice-agent call orchestration, conversation state, tool execution, and EHR write-back.
- Architect low-latency pipelines connecting telephony, ASR, LLMs, and TTS into a conversational loop.
- Lead healthcare-system integrations with Epic, Cerner, athena, and other systems for scheduling, eligibility, and intake.
- Drive decisions on APIs, data models, and event-driven workflows, and mentor other engineers.
- Partner with AI, product, and operations teams to ship patient-access features.
- Own standards for latency, reliability, observability, testing, LLM evaluation, and release readiness.
Requirements
- 4+ years of backend software experience, primarily in Python.
- Track record designing and shipping production services, APIs, and data models used by other engineers.
- Understanding of how people interact with automated voice and text assistants.
- Deep experience with asynchronous, event-driven, or real-time systems.
- Strong fundamentals in testing, LLM evaluation, observability, and reliability.
- Patient-centered design approach, ownership, bias for action, and sound judgment.
