Responsibilities
- Design, build, deliver, and maintain high-quality, performant, secure backend solutions.
- Lead software system design and reviews, including architecture and technology decisions.
- Assess future technology needs and build solutions that address organizational gaps.
- Provide technical leadership across the software development lifecycle and ensure architectural consistency.
- Deploy solutions through CI/CD pipelines and improve engineering processes.
- Use New Relic, Dynatrace, and Moogsoft to support performance monitoring, logging, telemetry, and reliability.
- Pair program with engineers or AI tools, coach and mentor colleagues, and contribute to open-source and inner-source projects.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of backend development experience designing and implementing solutions with Databricks, PySpark/Python API, Azure Data Factory, and SQL Server.
- At least 5 years of experience developing cloud-native solutions on Azure.
- At least 5 years of experience deploying solutions through CI/CD using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar technologies.
- Proven experience designing software systems and documenting designs using tools such as UML.
- Ability to make sound professional decisions, solve complex problems, and communicate clearly across distributed teams.
- Familiarity with Java and Java Spring Boot is an asset.
- Experience with Power BI, JavaScript, React, and/or NodeJS is an asset.
- Financial-industry experience and practical, thoughtful problem-solving experience are additional assets.
