Base Salary

$128k - $177k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Own the architecture, implementation, and production delivery of agentic AI systems end to end.
  • Design agent orchestration patterns, tool and context integrations, and reliability-focused evaluation pipelines.
  • Own AWS-based AI infrastructure and help develop the team’s infrastructure self-sufficiency.
  • Implement safeguards for hallucinations, prompt injection, output validation, and other AI-specific risks.
  • Build audit logging and human-in-the-loop checkpoints for traceable and reviewable agent workflows.
  • Mentor Associate and Senior Associate engineers through code and architecture reviews.
  • Contribute technical standards and engineering practices in partnership with the Executive Director.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • 4–7 years of software engineering experience, with production AI or LLM systems experience preferred.
  • Strong Python, proficient SQL, and solid distributed systems and API design fundamentals.
  • Hands-on experience building LLM-powered applications or agentic systems.
  • Working knowledge of prompt injection, output validation, hallucination mitigation, data privacy, or the ability to build this expertise quickly.
  • Cloud infrastructure experience, preferably AWS, with comfort using Docker and containerization fundamentals.
  • Experience mentoring or elevating junior engineers and owning production systems from design through deployment.
  • Preferred qualifications include Claude, Anthropic API, Claude.ai or Console, agent orchestration, MCP integrations, Kubernetes, Terraform, regulated-industry experience, AI red-teaming or adversarial testing, and data engineering.
