Base Salary
$167k - $317k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define architecture, patterns, and guardrails for engineers and coding agents working across Scribd’s codebase, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure.
- Set the direction for internal tools, libraries, and platforms used by engineers across the company.
- Partner with engineering leaders to turn ambiguous, cross-organizational problems into initiatives and own them from framing through delivery.
- Mentor staff and senior engineers, coach teams on using coding agents, and roll out new engineering capabilities.
- Work with the CTO and engineering leadership to establish agentic engineering as a lasting company-wide capability.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including time operating at the Staff or Principal level.
- Hands-on experience applying AI to real software problems and shipping, measuring, or meaningfully advancing agentic developer tooling in production.
- Depth in agentic systems, including agent runtimes and harnesses, tool use, context management, and evaluation methods.
- A track record of organization-wide technical impact, technical direction-setting, and mentoring senior and staff engineers.
- Significant experience in developer experience, platform engineering, or infrastructure engineering.
- Ability to communicate complex technical ideas clearly to leadership and engineers and operate effectively with broad ambiguity.
