Base Salary
$150k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs for business-critical systems.
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable data pipelines and automation workflows.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Drive technical excellence through code reviews and mentorship of other engineers.
- Ensure reliability, performance, and security of backend systems as WHOOP scales.
- Contribute to long-term technical strategy and identify opportunities for automation.
Requirements
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in at least one modern backend programming language (e.g., Java, Python, Go).
- Experience designing and maintaining APIs, integrations, and middleware.
- Solid understanding of relational databases, data modeling, and query optimization.
- Experience with cloud-based infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure) and distributed systems.
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and deliver balanced solutions.
- Experience mentoring engineers and fostering a culture of learning.
- Strong commitment to leveraging AI tools in day-to-day tasks.
