Base Salary
$216k - $273k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop software and algorithms for Roku’s entertainment assistant.
- Design and develop high-availability, high-performance cloud software components.
- Own initiatives end to end, from proof of concept through production deployment.
- Build, deploy, and maintain large-scale machine learning and voice systems.
- Evaluate alternative technical solutions, collaborate across teams, and make pragmatic technical decisions.
Requirements
- At least five years of industry experience applying ML or AI to NLU or a related domain, or an advanced degree with at least three years of experience.
- Experience with big data systems including Spark, EMR, S3, and Airflow, and proficiency in Java, Python, or C++.
- Strong understanding of regression, classification, ranking, neural networks, and sequence models for text or speech.
- Experience building challenging large-scale production systems and strong computer science and algorithmic fundamentals.
- Experience deploying and maintaining machine learning models, including identifying appropriate KPIs and objective functions; transformer-based models in production are a plus.
- Experience with advanced machine learning techniques, including LLMs and generative AI, and with production NLU and/or ASR systems.
- A bachelor's degree is preferred.
