  • Develop automated data collection routines with robot end-effectors or instrumented test rigs to generate ground-truth datasets.
  • Conduct hands-on testing to characterize sensors under motion, vibration, thermal variation, and operational loads.
  • Apply DSP techniques to filter, fuse, and compress sensor signals into representations for robotic perception and behavior models.
  • Model sensor performance and integrate tactile sensing into Isaac Sim and MuJoCo simulation environments.
  • Define hardware interfaces and support system integration with software, systems, manufacturing, and test engineering teams.
  • Document designs, experiments, and findings while improving development processes, tools, and design standards.

Requirements

  • Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field, or a bachelor’s degree with significant relevant experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience developing embedded systems in robotics, automation, or similar electromechanical products.
  • Strong understanding of tactile sensing physics and the ability to model sensor behavior and develop robust data representations.
  • Experience with Git and software development in Python and C++ for robotic systems, including high-bandwidth data acquisition.
  • Proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch for sensor data processing or representation learning.
  • Strong technical communication and documentation skills.
  • Preferred experience with hardware-based data collection campaigns, sensor calibration, modeling, simulation environments, and integrating vision, force/torque sensors, IMUs, or tactile arrays.
  • Robotics safety, reliability engineering, or IPC-related certifications are a plus.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits.
  • 401(k), paid time off, and an annual bonus structure.
