Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design, evaluate, and demonstrate tactile sensing data representations for reliable robotic manipulation and environmental interaction.
- Architect and implement optimized pipelines to acquire, process, and stream high-bandwidth tactile sensor data.
- Develop automated data collection routines with robot end-effectors or instrumented test rigs to generate ground-truth datasets.
- Conduct hands-on testing to characterize sensors under motion, vibration, thermal variation, and operational loads.
- Apply DSP techniques to filter, fuse, and compress sensor signals into representations for robotic perception and behavior models.
- Model sensor performance and integrate tactile sensing into Isaac Sim and MuJoCo simulation environments.
- Define hardware interfaces and support system integration with software, systems, manufacturing, and test engineering teams.
- Document designs, experiments, and findings while improving development processes, tools, and design standards.
Requirements
- Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field, or a bachelor’s degree with significant relevant experience.
- At least 5 years of experience developing embedded systems in robotics, automation, or similar electromechanical products.
- Strong understanding of tactile sensing physics and the ability to model sensor behavior and develop robust data representations.
- Experience with Git and software development in Python and C++ for robotic systems, including high-bandwidth data acquisition.
- Proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch for sensor data processing or representation learning.
- Strong technical communication and documentation skills.
- Preferred experience with hardware-based data collection campaigns, sensor calibration, modeling, simulation environments, and integrating vision, force/torque sensors, IMUs, or tactile arrays.
- Robotics safety, reliability engineering, or IPC-related certifications are a plus.
