Base Salary
$274k - $366k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define technical strategies and architectural roadmaps for seller platforms and architectures.
- Modernize highly coupled monolithic commerce systems into distributed, maintainable, and safely deployable services.
- Establish domain boundaries and bounded contexts using Domain-Driven Design.
- Architect Federated GraphQL and consumer-driven contracts for independent web and mobile development.
- Improve flow efficiency, experimentation, learning speed, and engineering effectiveness across JVM-based services.
- Write code, build foundational frameworks, and establish reusable architectural patterns.
- Mentor and train the global engineering community on sophisticated technical issues.
- Promote psychological safety, blameless learning, and collaborative experimentation.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, or a bachelor’s degree with equivalent high-level architectural experience.
- 15–20+ years of relevant engineering experience leading delivery of services and large-scale distributed systems.
- Proven success delivering enterprise-wide solutions from design through development, testing, and production.
- Deep understanding of Java, Kotlin, and Scala, as well as modern web front-end and native mobile architectures.
- Experience with React, Node, Spring, Docker, Kubernetes, service-based architectures, Domain-Driven Design, and reactive or event-driven systems.
- Demonstrated success modernizing monolithic enterprise systems and implementing Federated GraphQL for client-backend decoupling.
- Strong customer focus, relationship-building, executive communication, and technical mentorship skills.
- Willingness to work deeply in technical details with an iterative approach and commitment to software quality and psychological safety.
