Base Salary

$182k - $220k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, deployment, and operation of scalable digital product architectures and backend systems.
  • Work with engineering, product, design, and technical leaders to deliver interoperable products and systems supporting customer interactions inside and outside the vehicle.
  • Define technical roadmaps, lead large projects spanning multiple teams, and make technology, build-versus-buy, and partner decisions.
  • Establish engineering standards, tooling, metrics, processes, and operational excellence practices.
  • Recruit, manage, mentor, calibrate, and develop software engineering teams while setting a high bar for quality.
  • Integrate with third-party platforms and external service providers and support the evolution of early-stage products into customized applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering and scaling software products, preferably involving ecommerce, payments, digital products, and backend platforms.
  • 5+ years of experience leading high-performing software engineering teams, with evidence of guiding teams through complex projects.
  • Experience with APIs, microservices, complex backend systems, and integrations with third-party platforms.
  • Strong coding skills across Go, Java, Kotlin, and Swift, including management of pipelines supporting web and mobile releases.
  • Experience leading large technical projects lasting 6+ months and defining roadmaps across multiple teams and functions.
  • Experience in startup environments, launching 0-to-1 products, supporting low-code tools, and scaling toward customized applications.
  • Knowledge of system vulnerabilities and prevention techniques.
  • Preferred experience includes data pipelines, web or mobile analytics, automotive systems, and full-stack development.
