Base Salary
$162k - $186k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop novel machine learning systems, product integrations, and performance optimizations for real-world customer service problems.
- Design and build efficient AI solutions for Airbnb customer service products in partnership with Product, Design, and Engineering.
- Develop and enhance Chat AI assistants, Voice AI assistants, ML services, and agentic AI systems.
- Explore and apply agentic architectures, model training techniques, RAG, LLM evaluation, feedback-based learning, and guardrails.
- Take AI concepts from inception through production and share emerging AI and ML technologies with the team.
Requirements
- Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field, plus 3+ years of experience, or equivalent industry experience.
- Hands-on experience with LLM pretraining, fine-tuning, SFT, RLHF, GRPO, prompt engineering, RAG architectures, and LLM evaluation frameworks.
- Experience building agentic AI systems involving multi-agent orchestration, tool use, planning, memory, and autonomous reasoning pipelines.
- Experience shipping production-grade ML and AI systems at scale, including ML infrastructure, model serving, and MLOps practices.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills across Engineering, Product, and Design.

- Base pay range is $162,000—$186,000 USD.
