Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend product features and architecture using Golang, GraphQL, Node, and SQL.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and technical leads to understand requirements and deliver scalable software.
- Create technical design documentation and provide scope and risk estimates for systems and features.
- Apply software development best practices, design patterns, testing, automation, and modern tools.
- Use AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, and RDS for diverse job types and batch processing.
- Triage live production issues, assess impact, implement mitigation plans, and conduct root-cause analysis.
- Mentor junior team members through design and code reviews.
- Partner with senior leadership to translate technical vision into quarterly roadmaps.
- Explore AI tools and technologies that improve software delivery speed and quality.
Requirements
- BS or advanced degree in Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience.
- 8–12 years of professional software development experience.
- Experience with a compiled language such as Go, Java, C#, or C++; Go experience is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL, including schema design, SQL tuning, and database monitoring.
- Experience designing and implementing scalable APIs with knowledge of design patterns and testing best practices.
- Strong understanding of GraphQL APIs, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Experience at a high-growth startup or midsize technology company is preferred.
- Experience using GenAI tools to efficiently deliver high-quality production software is preferred.
- Ability to work independently, forecast milestones accurately, manage stakeholder expectations, and navigate ambiguity.
