Responsibilities
- Ship accessible, performant frontend features end to end from design handoff through production.
- Own API contracts, documentation, technical roadmaps, written specifications, trade-offs, and success criteria.
- Drive frontend consistency and lead framework and stack migration efforts across web properties.
- Set frontend security, quality, reliability, incident review, and production readiness standards.
- Understand, monitor, and improve the build and deployment pipeline while evaluating hosting providers and vendors.
- Develop IC3 engineers into technical leaders and raise frontend hiring standards.
- Define standards for integrating Kiro and other AI tools into engineering workflows and products.
Requirements
- At least 5+ years of focused frontend experience building and operating production web applications at scale, including leading large, complex projects.
- Ability to bridge engineering and product priorities and make technically grounded decisions under uncertainty.
- Recognized technical authority in frontend engineering whose judgment influences decisions beyond the immediate team.
- Deep expertise in modern CSS/SCSS, HTML, current ECMAScript proposals, and framework trade-offs.
- Comprehensive experience writing unit and end-to-end tests and building CI workflows for them.
- Deep working knowledge of TypeScript, modern React, and frameworks such as Next.js for server-side rendering, routing, and data fetching.
- Breadth across teams and experience making pragmatic build-versus-refactor-versus-replace decisions during production crises and scale challenges.
- Genuine interest in leading AI-assisted development.
- Preferred: experience owning and adopting design systems, creating sensible UI designs, observability, Core Web Vitals, accessibility auditing, frontend performance tuning, vendor evaluation, legacy systems at scale, and backend/API fluency.
