Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product managers, scientists, and applications engineers to translate requirements into technical specifications and production solutions.
- Lead the architecture and implementation of reliable systems spanning simulators, quantum processor services, and platform infrastructure.
- Design and build tooling and core software used to develop, operate, and monitor quantum processors.
- Write clean, documented code and participate in design and code reviews.
- Troubleshoot issues, identify bottlenecks, and optimize system performance and user experience.
- Contribute across requirements, architecture, implementation, deployment, and production support.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, electrical/computer engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of hands-on professional software development experience.
- Strong Python development skills and proficiency in at least one compiled or systems language such as C++, Go, or Rust.
- Experience with scientific computing libraries such as NumPy and with open-source software projects.
- Competence with AWS, database systems, SQL, Git, build tools, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency with RESTful APIs and software testing practices including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, performance profiling, and diagnosing system issues.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, documentation, collaboration, and attention-to-detail skills.
