Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable, highly available backend systems and services.
- Drive technical design discussions and contribute to architecture decisions.
- Build resilient microservices capable of handling large-scale production traffic.
- Improve system performance, reliability, observability, and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Infrastructure, and Operations teams to deliver features.
- Participate in code reviews and establish engineering best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote technical excellence.
- Own and operate production systems under a “You Build It, You Own It” model.
- Evaluate new technologies and improve engineering efficiency.
Requirements
- 6+ years of software engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Strong experience building backend product applications in high-scale production environments.
- Excellent programming skills in Golang, PHP, or Python.
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems, microservices architecture, scalability, performance engineering, RESTful APIs, data structures and algorithms, multithreading, and concurrency.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with Linux systems, networking fundamentals, and scripting.
- Experience designing data models and working with MySQL, MongoDB, Aerospike, or similar databases.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Jenkins, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
- Familiarity with Grafana, Kibana, Elasticsearch, or equivalent monitoring and observability tools.
- Understanding of DNS, load balancers, firewalls, and proxies.
- Strong debugging, analytical, problem-solving, ownership, and production-operations skills.
- Preferred experience with telecom, CPaaS, contact center, communication, SMS, WhatsApp, cloud telephony, telecom protocols, ETL, event-driven, or streaming systems.
- Experience working in high-growth product startups is advantageous.
