Responsibilities
- Fine-tune, evaluate, and deploy speech recognition and audio-processing models, including Whisper and wav2vec.
- Collect and curate custom ASR datasets and establish annotation, quality-control, alignment, and segmentation workflows.
- Build and maintain audio data pipelines and preprocessing workflows for clinical environments.
- Collaborate with MLOps on continuous training, model monitoring, and production deployment.
- Design experiments involving new approaches, datasets, and architectures to improve speech recognition accuracy.
- Work with product managers and developers to translate speech solutions into production healthcare tools.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
- Typically 5–8+ years of experience in machine learning engineering.
- Strong Python programming skills, including production code and model deployment.
- Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Jax.
- Direct experience with ASR models, VAD, alignment, diarisation, and complex speech/audio processing pipelines.
- Extensive experience with transformer-based architectures and deep learning models.
- Practical experience with MLOps pipeline components such as Docker, MLflow, W&B, DVC, or Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of multilingual or domain-specific modeling is preferred.
- Experience with distributed training systems for large-scale model optimization is preferred.
- Full proficiency in English and German is preferred.
