Responsibilities
- Own the infrastructure-as-code and GitOps foundation using Terraform and ArgoCD, including ApplicationSets, self-healing, and recoverability.
- Build and operate a multi-tenant, self-service internal developer platform with golden paths, onboarding, tenant and environment management, catalogs, and internal tooling.
- Run Kubernetes on AWS GovCloud with Karpenter, KEDA, ingress, Gateway API, cert-manager, and ALB integration across environments.
- Architect and deploy MLOps/AIOps capabilities for data science and data engineering teams, including GPU scheduling, model training and serving, managed notebooks, GenAI workloads, and ML pipelines.
- Enable a data lakehouse using Trino, Iceberg, Glue, S3, Dagster, dbt, and search capabilities.
- Deliver observability, SLOs, dashboards, and actionable alerting with Prometheus and Grafana.
- Automate security and compliance through secrets management, network policy, least-privilege IRSA, policy-as-code, vulnerability remediation, and ATO artifact generation.
- Create platform documentation, production-readiness standards, runbooks, and knowledge-transfer materials.
- Partner directly with government stakeholders and platform tenants to translate mission needs into platform capabilities and mentor teammates.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevSecOps, Site Reliability, or Cloud Engineering with senior-level ownership of a production platform.
- Experience building an internal developer platform or PaaS from the ground up for federal clients and taking it through production and ATO.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, ArgoCD, Karpenter, KEDA, Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Trino, Dagster, dbt, and AWS services including EKS, S3, Glue, IAM/IRSA, ECR, SageMaker, Bedrock, and Athena.
- Deep expertise in Kubernetes/EKS, GitOps with ArgoCD or Flux, and Terraform infrastructure as code.
- Experience designing self-service golden paths, multi-tenancy, onboarding workflows, CI/CD, progressive delivery, and internal developer tooling.
- Strong automation and scripting skills with Python, Bash, and Go.
- Working knowledge of NIST 800-53, FISMA, ATO processes, and regulated or GovCloud environments.
- U.S. citizenship is required, and candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust; active Public Trust is a plus.
- Preferred experience includes production MLOps/AIOps, SageMaker, Bedrock, Kubeflow, MLflow, Ray, KServe, Triton, Seldon, GPU scheduling, federal health or regulated data programs, data lakehouses, AWS GovCloud, IL4/IL5, FedRAMP, air-gapped environments, policy-as-code, container security, SBOMs, vulnerability scanning, Kubecost, and documentation practices.
