Responsibilities
- Develop test strategies, processes, test plans, and test cases for product features.
- Develop Python-based test automation and scripts for SDK, NOS, firmware, simulation-platform, and network-device testing.
- Execute tests and review results for functional, integration, regression, performance, packet verification, and release qualification coverage.
- Measure and improve code and test coverage using coverage analysis and quality-monitoring practices.
- Document test results in qTest and report thoroughly documented defects, logs, and traces in Jira.
- Validate switch functionality, performance, reliability, packet forwarding, network ASIC pipelines, and SDK API behavior.
- Define and improve QA processes and standards and integrate QA into CI/CD workflows.
- Participate in peer code reviews and collaborate with development, validation, and release teams across sites and time zones.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-10 years of related professional experience.
- Strong understanding of L1-L4 switching and networking, Ethernet switching architectures, packet forwarding, and network ASIC pipelines.
- Proficiency in Python test automation, including Pytest or Robot Framework.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation integration, such as Jenkins or GitHub CI.
- Experience with traffic-generation tools such as IXIA, Spirent, TRex, or Scapy.
- Knowledge of Linux environments, shell scripting, low-level debugging, Git, and Jira.
- Experience with switch SDKs, hardware abstraction layers, and SDK-to-driver interactions; SAI knowledge is advantageous.
- Proven experience designing test strategies and plans and analyzing coverage for SDK-level or embedded systems.
- Familiarity with network operating systems such as SONiC, hardware validation labs, testbed management, hardware bring-up, firmware, or bootloader testing is advantageous.
- Strong written and verbal communication, analytical troubleshooting, organization, attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and defect trend analysis.
- Prior semiconductor or network equipment vendor experience is advantageous.
