Responsibilities
- Own design authority, delivery risk, quality gates, defect trends, and release readiness for the SAP MM Purchasing process area.
- Configure purchasing requisitions and orders, document types, number ranges, field selection, account assignment, and item categories.
- Design and configure classic release strategies and S/4HANA flexible workflow, including approval matrices and troubleshooting.
- Configure source lists, quota arrangements, outline agreements, purchasing info records, pricing condition techniques, output, and form determination.
- Coordinate purchasing integration with Inventory Management, Finance, invoice verification, account determination, goods receipt, and master data.
- Lead recovery of delayed or high-pressure workstreams and report defensible delivery trajectories to programme leadership.
- Define AI-enabled delivery standards, accelerator validation and IP controls, SAP Joule usage, grounding content governance, and agent acceptance standards.
- Mentor Managers and senior engineers through design reviews, pairing, codified patterns, and capability development.
- Represent the process area in client leadership and programme governance forums and negotiate scope and timelines.
Requirements
- At least 15 years of experience in the primary SAP MM skill.
- At least 15 years of full-time education.
- Expert hands-on design and configuration experience with SAP MM Purchasing, including purchasing documents, release strategies, flexible workflow, source determination, and purchasing pricing.
- Hands-on configuration or design-level build work on the primary skill within the last 24 months.
- Comprehensive understanding of procure-to-pay impacts, including goods receipt, invoice verification, and GR/IR behavior.
- Demonstrated technical mentoring and capability building for Managers and senior engineers.
- Demonstrated AI-enabled delivery leadership, including AI standards, validation controls, accelerators, and measurable productivity outcomes.
- Working experience with SAP Joule for Consultants or equivalent AI-tooling standards leadership, with proficiency expected within 90 days if needed.
- Demonstrated leadership across multiple SAP workstreams, including recovery of a delayed or quality-pressured engagement.
- Credible executive and client stakeholder management under incomplete information and commercial pressure.
- Preferred experience with SAP S/4HANA Central Procurement, SAP Ariba Buying integration, Procurement Fiori applications, situation handling, and clean-core extensibility.
