Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded C/C++ firmware for bare-metal and RTOS devices on STM32-based control and communication modules.
- Implement low-level software for microcontroller peripherals, memory handling, interrupts, watchdogs, boot behavior, and hardware abstraction.
- Support board bring-up, platform integration, debugging, validation, and development of engineering interpretations of product standards.
- Develop digital audio streaming, routing, and processing algorithms for 100V line audio, amplifier supervision, alarm, paging, and monitoring functions.
- Implement and support Ethernet, LonTalk, RS232, RS485, and RS422 communication protocols and related node communications.
- Migrate legacy Echelon and CPM5000 communication and control functions to a new STM32-based embedded architecture.
- Develop fault detection, system health checking, diagnostics, and status-reporting mechanisms for life-safety systems.
- Create test plans, perform verification and validation, conduct regression testing, and investigate development, manufacturing, commissioning, and field-service issues.
- Maintain legacy products through defect correction, bespoke customer solutions, and hardware-obsolescence mitigation.
- Author software architecture, interface-control, test, validation, and product-support documentation.
- Contribute to MISRA C/C++, static analysis, configuration management, code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing.
- Collaborate with hardware, project, estimation, production, commissioning, manufacturing, test, and service teams, and mentor less experienced engineers.
Requirements
