Senior Software Engineer, Consumer

$125k - $254k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the team’s web work, including guest-facing features and restaurant-supporting tools.
- Build cross-platform experiences with frontend, backend, iOS, and Android engineers.
- Develop frontend experiences with React, TypeScript, and Next.js and work on supporting backend services.
- Experiment with guests and restaurants to test new dining experiences.
- Own work from shipping through launch, rollout monitoring, and results analysis.
- Lead technical projects with cross-team impact and contribute to the growth and strategy of Toast’s consumer business.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a full-stack software engineer.
- Strong frontend experience building modern web applications with React and TypeScript; Next.js experience is a plus.
- Backend experience building GraphQL or REST APIs; Kotlin or Java experience is a plus.
- Ownership of work from start to finish, including shipping, launching, monitoring, and analyzing results.
- A point of view on consumer products and a desire to shape what gets built.
- A proven track record of leading technical projects with cross-team impact and collaborating cross-functionally.
- Native frontend development experience for iOS or Android is a nice-to-have.
