Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of scalable, reliable data platforms and pipelines.
- Set technical direction and influence architecture decisions across data systems, storage, transformation, and serving layers.
- Improve data quality, reliability, maintainability, and system performance by addressing systemic issues.
- Lead complex and ambiguous cross-team technical initiatives with significant hands-on engineering work.
- Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and improve team effectiveness through structured problem-solving.
- Build alignment with engineering, product, analytics, business stakeholders, and executive audiences.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional experience in software or data engineering, including meaningful experience at staff scope.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake data lakes and modern data orchestration using dbt and Airflow.
- Deep experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, Kinesis, ECS, SNS, SQS, and Lambda.
- Very strong programming and query skills in SQL, Java with Spring Boot, and Python.
- Experience designing REST APIs and GraphQL services and managing relational and NoSQL databases in high-scale systems.
- Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, release automation, system design, platform engineering, software architecture, security, performance, and maintainability for large-scale data environments.
- Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives, balance hands-on engineering with strategic direction, and influence decisions across business units.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
