API Governance Architect (REST & Event-Driven)

Responsibilities
- Lead the definition and evolution of governance for REST and event-driven APIs, including organizational rules, standards, and best practices.
- Define and apply automated quality controls, scoring mechanisms, and validations for APIs.
- Integrate governance controls and policies into CI/CD processes.
- Manage and evolve API and event catalogs, domains, and inventories while ensuring traceability and classification.
- Establish security, access control, audit, traceability, and observability policies for APIs and events.
- Define standards and best practices for REST and event-driven solutions and contribute to API, event, and contract modeling.
- Act as a liaison between business, architecture, security, and technology teams.
- Promote API adoption and event-driven architectures through workshops, evangelization, and team support.
Requirements
- Solid experience in API Governance and in designing and defining REST and asynchronous APIs.
- Experience documenting API contracts with Swagger/OpenAPI and AsyncAPI 2.x/3.x.
- Knowledge of Avro data schemas and experience or knowledge of Event Storming for event modeling.
- Strong knowledge of Event-Driven Architecture.
- Experience with API governance quality controls, scoring, and automated validations.
- Knowledge of CI/CD and automation.
- Knowledge of API and event security, including OAuth, JWT, IAM policies, identity providers, mTLS, certificates, encryption, and ACLs.
- Knowledge of auditing, traceability, event lineage, and observability.
- Knowledge of BIAN architecture.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with business and technology teams, with strong communication and stakeholder-interaction skills.
