Responsibilities
- Act as the system quality assurance representative within cross-functional product development teams.
- Provide software quality engineering support and independent quality oversight throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Review and approve software assessments, requirements, architecture and design documents, risk management records, test protocols, traceability matrices, and summary reports.
- Define and promote software quality best practices, quality-by-design principles, quality planning, verification, and validation activities.
- Perform software audits, assess risks, support CAPAs, and monitor software validation and project status.
- Ensure compliant transfer of software from development into manufacturing and product support.
- Support configuration management, process improvement, supplier management, training, and software quality program development.
- Analyze test strategies and develop test plans and execution documents.
- Partner with software and hardware engineering, systems engineering, cybersecurity, manufacturing, product quality, and product support teams.
Requirements
- More than five years of software quality management or relevant experience.
- Strong experience managing software quality across joint development manufacturers and external development partners.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, electronic engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of software quality for IoT products, including embedded, app, and cloud software.
- Experience working in regulated environments and with standards such as ISO, IEC, and FDA requirements.
- Experience with software verification and validation, software configuration management, risk management, audits, process improvement, and statistical process control.
- Understanding of software quality processes, methodologies, quality tools, metrics, analytical techniques, and software development and maintenance processes.
- Certified software quality engineer certification, such as CQQE or ISO auditor certification, is preferred.
- Strong communication, attention to detail, independence, teamwork, and ability to deliver quality in a fast-paced environment.
