Senior Frontend Engineer - Angular

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and evolution of Angular application architecture, including module federation, standalone components, lazy loading, and state management patterns.
  • Own and extend the shared Angular Material component library and SCSS-based design system.
  • Define frontend coding standards, review guidelines, and architectural decision records, and mentor frontend engineers.
  • Drive Angular version migrations and evaluate features such as Signals, Deferrable Views, and server-side rendering.
  • Build complex e-banking features including payment flows, account overviews, transaction history, document centers, and secure messaging.
  • Develop authentication and session-management interfaces integrating OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and MFA flows.
  • Maintain multilingual German, French, Italian, and English interfaces using Angular i18n and ngx-translate.
  • Design and consume strongly typed RESTful and GraphQL APIs with backend teams.
  • Implement UX designs from Figma across breakpoints and devices.
  • Optimize application performance, bundle size, Core Web Vitals, change detection, and virtual scrolling.
  • Write unit and integration tests and contribute to Cypress and Playwright end-to-end test suites.
  • Enforce WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility, including screen-reader and keyboard-navigation support.
  • Apply frontend security controls including XSS prevention, CSP, secure cookies, CSRF protection, and Subresource Integrity.
  • Support security audits and penetration-testing remediation while maintaining awareness of FINMA digital banking guidelines.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of professional frontend development experience with Angular version 12 or later.
  • Strong TypeScript skills and understanding of the Angular compiler.
  • Expert-level RxJS knowledge and experience designing complex reactive data flows.
  • Experience building and maintaining large-scale production Angular applications.
  • Understanding of frontend web security fundamentals including XSS, CSRF, CSP, and secure authentication.
  • Experience with NgRx or equivalent state management in non-trivial applications.
  • Strong knowledge of accessibility, cross-browser compatibility, responsive design, and frontend performance.
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring or leading frontend engineers.
  • Fluent German at B2+ level and business-proficient English.
  • Financial-services or other regulated-industry experience is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with micro-frontend architecture, including module federation or single-spa, is a strong plus.
  • Hands-on Nx monorepo experience is a strong plus.
  • Angular Universal, static pre-rendering, OAuth2/OIDC provider integration, and contributions to Angular projects or design systems are advantageous.
  • French or Italian language skills are advantageous.
