Responsibilities
- Develop foundational applications used by engineering teams across Adyen.
- Drive medium-sized development projects with engineers and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers to identify common platform capabilities.
- Design and evolve APIs used by engineers across the company.
- Architect resilient, highly available solutions spanning multiple data centers.
- Deploy, monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize live applications in production.
- Research how internal engineers use the platform and identify improvements.
- Mentor junior team members.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of backend software development experience.
- Proficiency in Java and a solid understanding of the JVM.
- Experience with Postgres or similar relational databases.
- Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and monitoring tools.
- Good understanding of distributed systems.
- Product-oriented approach to software development.
- Willingness to operate, deploy, and troubleshoot applications in a live production environment.
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems, security best practices, secret management, service discovery, feature flagging, or internal platform products is preferred.
