Base Salary
$142k - $171k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build datasets and data models from retinal clinical and administrative data for RetinaOS products.
- Extract and integrate clinical, administrative, electronic medical record, practice management, and ophthalmology imaging data from varied sources and formats.
- Wrangle datasets, validate data, and apply statistical, data science, and computer vision methods.
- Prepare retinal datasets for clinical research and real-world evidence studies.
- Develop pipelines for parsing ophthalmology images, linking records, processing PHI, and modeling data in AWS.
- Perform image and layer segmentation, object detection, lesion depth and breadth detection, volumetric rendering, and volumetric measurement.
- Write, troubleshoot, and optimize performant SQL queries for clinical and administrative dataset preparation.
- Develop RPA applications in an AWS cloud environment and monitor system improvements.
Requirements
- Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Vision, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Three years of experience in the job offered, in a research setting preparing data for research studies and real-world evidence projects, or in a related occupation.
- At least one year of experience with retina and ophthalmology-specific electronic medical records, database integration, coding, clinical data management, ophthalmology imaging, data modeling, and statistical and computer vision models.
- At least one year of experience using Python and cloud technologies, including NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, and statistical or machine learning models.
- At least one year of experience working with medical images, including anterior and posterior ophthalmology, OCT, wide-field imaging, fluorescein angiography, and other posterior-eye imaging modalities.
- At least one year of experience linking electronic medical records with practice management and image data to create unified longitudinal patient records.
- At least one year of experience with ophthalmology image and layer segmentation, object detection, lesion detection, volumetric rendering, and volumetric measurement.
- At least one year of experience extracting data from proprietary imaging formats from suppliers such as Carl Zeiss, Heidelberg Engineering, Topcon, and Nikon/Optos.
- At least one year of experience writing, troubleshooting, visualizing, and optimizing PostgreSQL SQL queries, including PostgreSQL 16 or later and extensions.
- At least one year of experience with AWS-based data science pipelines, RPA applications, VS Code, Jupyter Lab, and Veracode security tools.
- At least one year of experience performing descriptive and advanced statistical analyses of ophthalmology datasets and building drug-switch matrices, drug-tenure analyses, and patient-care plateau analyses.
