Base Salary
$131k - $261k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead development, verification, and validation of embedded software for bio-wearable products.
- Own technical aspects of C-based software products and resolve significant technical issues.
- Apply FDA-compliant design control procedures and support medical-device development requirements.
- Design and develop device drivers and low-level device interfaces for embedded systems.
- Debug and troubleshoot embedded software using embedded-environment debuggers.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, strategic advice, and leadership for technical teams.
- Collaborate with QA engineers, consultants, and cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle.
- Research technical issues, propose solutions, and improve development productivity and code quality.
- Contribute from software specification through product support while meeting schedule and budget objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering Mathematics, or a related field plus 10+ years of related experience; alternatively, a master’s degree plus 7+ years or a Ph.D. plus 2+ years.
- Strong knowledge of software engineering principles and C programming.
- Experience with structured software development or Object Modeling Design.
- Experience developing embedded systems for safety-critical products.
- Strong embedded debugging and troubleshooting skills, including use of debuggers.
- Experience designing and developing device drivers and low-level device interfaces.
- Detailed experience with medical-device development processes and FDA 510K and PMA regulatory requirements.
- Experience with model-based design using UML or SysML is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of RF and BLE software design, device-driver configuration, and testing is preferred.
- Team leadership and demonstrated mentoring experience are preferred.
- Experience with Source Control Management is highly preferred; embedded-device testing experience is a strong plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
