$202k - $224k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve Uber’s code hosting, code review, code search, and SubmitQueue platforms.
- Design, build, and maintain Go-based tooling, automated review checks, and custom code-review integrations.
- Drive projects from problem framing and stakeholder alignment through implementation, production rollout, and ongoing operations.
- Define testing, monitoring, and alerting standards and track engineering metrics including land time, throughput, and build reliability.
- Measure and improve developer experience for thousands of engineers through quantitative metrics and workflow improvements.
- Participate in production on-call, incident response, root-cause analysis, and preventive remediation.
- Mentor engineers and contribute through code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong proficiency in Go and distributed systems at scale.
- Track record of delivering well-tested, production-ready code with high standards for quality, monitoring, and operational readiness.
- Experience owning projects through scoping, design, stakeholder alignment, delivery, and production support.
- Ability to make technical decisions under ambiguity while balancing engineering rigor with business priorities.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience with Bazel, Buck, Gradle, code review platforms, CI/CD pipelines, or monorepo infrastructure.
- Comfort with production on-call responsibilities and high-urgency incident triage and resolution.
- Experience defining and tracking engineering KPIs such as build times, land times, or developer throughput.

- Base salary range is USD $202,000–$224,000 per year for roles based in New York City, San Francisco, Seattle, or Sunnyvale.
