Responsibilities
- Build and operate an internal skills marketplace and AI tools distribution platform for Xero's engineering organization.
- Own software initiatives end to end from early experimentation through production.
- Create runbooks, monitoring, and rollback plans to support reliable production operation.
- Develop guidance and best practices for authoring agent skills, including remediation-task agents.
- Collaborate with AWS, Microsoft, and GitHub on early-access technology.
- Help shape technical direction and guide a team that is early in its AI journey.
Requirements
- Hands-on software engineering experience, ideally with C#, .NET, and AWS, with willingness to learn new stacks.
- Experience building internal tools or platforms relied upon by other engineers.
- Ability to apply production discipline through runbooks, monitoring, and rollback planning.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to bring others along with technical ideas.
- Curiosity about coding agents, AI-native tools, and the direction of AI engineering.
- Ability to challenge decisions directly and respectfully and learn in a structured, quality-focused way.
