Responsibilities
- Build an internal skills marketplace and distribution platform for AI tools used across Xero’s engineering organization.
- Develop guidance and best practices for authoring agent skills, including agents for remediation tasks.
- Own solutions end to end from experimentation through production, including runbooks, monitoring, and rollback planning.
- Collaborate directly with AWS, Microsoft, and GitHub on early-access technology.
- Help shape the technical direction of the AI Enablement team and guide engineering teams in adopting AI tools.
Requirements
- Bring hands-on software engineering experience, ideally with C#, .NET, and AWS, while being open to candidates from other technical backgrounds.
- Have built internal tools or platforms that other engineers relied on.
- Demonstrate production discipline through runbooks, monitoring, and rollback planning.
- Communicate clearly and bring stakeholders along with technical ideas.
- Show curiosity about coding agents and AI-native tools and interest in the direction of AI engineering.
- Be able to challenge decisions directly and respectfully and learn in a structured, quality-focused way.
