Responsibilities
- Refine requirements and write detailed specifications for complex software components.
- Design, develop, test, maintain, and troubleshoot scalable applications and services.
- Collaborate with development teams, architects, product managers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Design and work with complex data models while ensuring data integrity, scalability, and performance.
- Resolve technical issues across distributed systems and cloud-based environments.
- Implement and promote coding standards, code reviews, development processes, and software engineering best practices.
- Mentor and train less-experienced software engineers.
- Contribute to architecture, development-practice, and engineering-process improvements.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and software development innovations.
Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Java with Spring Boot and JavaScript/TypeScript with Node.js and React.
- Deep experience designing and maintaining microservices architectures.
- Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, AWS, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of cloud architecture tradeoffs, scalability, performance optimization, and cost management.
- Experience with trunk-based development, automated deployments, progressive delivery, API gateways, and authentication or authorization frameworks.
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools including New Relic, Coralogix, OpenTelemetry, and Grafana.
- Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and query optimization.
- Experience implementing Test-Driven Development and automated quality gates.
- Working knowledge of event-driven and streaming architectures such as Kafka.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code.
- Strong research, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical-specification skills.
